At any given time, a typical marketer’s social media feed will reveal linkbait headlines like:

  • “Four content marketing tips to use when … “
  • “5 social media trends to … “
  • “3 growth hacking tips for … “

Sure, you may need to be across some of this material, but don’t make the mistake of equating these ways of gaming the system as marketing.

True marketing is like Jazz.

Don’t learn the rules to follow the rules.

Know the rules to break the rules.
