Another day, another 4 letter acronym.
F.O.B.O aka the Fear of Being Offline is rife in the next generation. A study asked 13-24yo across 13 countries a series of questions about their online and mobile behaviour. A few results:
- 72% can’t leave home without their phone &
- 60% would give up TV instead of their mobile
While this study centred on millennials, I don’t know of many people that would feel comfortable leaving the house without their phone nor elect to keep their TV over their phone.
FOBO is essentially the evolution of FOMO.
That is in 2015, the epicentre of life for millennials (and probably most of us) is taking place online.
To be offline is considered to be missing out.

Not many people know this but the word ‘Crisis’ in Chinese is actually made up of 2 characters, one means Danger and the other means opportunity.
Although we are going through this crisis, this current situation can force us to come up with better and more efficient processes, internal collaborations and better leaderships.
