Mad Men may be in its final season (sniff!) but perhaps what’s even more remarkable is that The Real Men and Women of Madison Avenue back in the ‘golden days of advertising’ are just as interesting as their fictional TV counterparts.
In our research for an upcoming campaign, I stumbled across this hour long documentary, above, from US Public Broadcast station, Thirteen.
Not quite in the same league as Doug Pray’s Art & Copy, but Isaiah Mustafa (The Old Spice man) hosts a good summary of the advertising revolution that took place back in the 50’s – and no doubt includes a few lessons we can still apply today.
