A breathtakingly simple and elegantly human solution to bypass gaming the system or worrying about the algorithms:

“If we were having a meal together, would I genuinely want to pull out my smartphone and show you this ad or social media post? If not, I shouldn’t publish it, let alone put any money behind it.”
