I may not be the most experienced when it comes to pink bits, but you would have been living under a rock or on a secluded tropical island with no access to the outside world, healing those post pandemic blues, to have not heard about Warner Bros’ highest grossing film in it’s 100+ year history, and undoubtedly the biggest movie release of 2023, Barbie.

Now I know what you’re thinking, it’s Barbie, of course it’s going to be huge. But let’s not forget the many failed attempts at iconic children’s adaptations (we’re looking at you Pokemon) that didn’t quite land, have the right awareness behind it or meet global expectations.

Warner Bros and Mattel understood the importance of ‘Brand’, something we religiously educate and implement for our clients. They know a big name or a great product doesn’t always convert to big success. Investing more in their marketing campaign than making the film ($140mil production vs $150mil advertising) their teams deployed an 18 month long campaign which has revolutionized the marketing landscape.
